Join Jessica Sandhu for a special Yogic Healing - Yoga Nidra Workshop. Yoga Nidra is derived from two Sanskrit words: Yoga meaning union or one-pointed awareness, and Nidra which means sleep.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation technique practiced comfortably lying down in Savasana (resting on your back pose). In Yoga Nidra, the practice includes using body scanning, breath awareness, and imagery to induce deep relaxation, freedom, and ease.
During the practice of yoga nidra, one appears asleep, but they are in a blissful state between awake and asleep. Within this rest, one can tap into their unconscious and subconscious levels of their mind and release patterns that are held deep.
Yoga Nidra is helpful for managing stress-related illnesses, anxiety, depression and past traumas, and more.
In this workshop, we’ll begin with some pre-meditative breathing and simple yoga poses to ease the body, mind and spirit for deep meditation.
The workshop includes:
Pranayama (breathing exercises)
Gentle and simple asana (30 mins. restorative yoga and yin poses)
Full yoga nidra practice (45 mins.)

Join Kristen McLean in this free community workshop for a nourishing and spiritually grounding journey into the ancient practice of Japa Mala—a meditative ritual that uses a string of 108 beads (mala) and the repetition of mantra to foster mindfulness, inner stillness, and sacred connection. Rooted in the Vedic tradition, this practice has been passed down through generations as a powerful tool for focusing the mind, opening the heart, and aligning with intention. In this workshop, you’ll learn:
The history and origins of Japa Mala, including its roots in yogic and spiritual lineages
The meaning behind the number 108 and how mala beads are traditionally used
The power of sound and vibration in mantra meditation
How to choose or create a personal mantra for your own practice
How to integrate Japa Mala into your daily rituals as a centering tool for clarity and peace
After a brief discussion and teaching, we will come together in shared practice, completing a full round of Japa Mala meditation as a community. This will be a deeply meditative, heart-centered experience accessible to both beginners and experienced practitioners. Please bring your own mala if you have one, or borrow one during class. A limited number of malas will also be available for purchase after the session.
